Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 18, 2026

Vantage (“Vantage,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile and web app that lets you view your own product analytics from PostHog and Amplitude in one place. This policy explains what we do — and do not — collect. Vantage is built to be privacy-preserving: it does not require an account, and it is designed to keep your data on your own device and in your own analytics provider whenever possible.

1. We don’t require an account

You can use Vantage without signing up, giving us your name, or creating a profile. We do not ask for or collect personal identifiers to use the app.

2. Your analytics credentials (API keys)

To show your analytics, Vantage needs the API credentials you create in PostHog and/or Amplitude. Here is exactly how those credentials are handled:

  • iOS app: your keys are stored on your device in the iOS Keychain (secure, OS-level storage). The app calls the PostHog/Amplitude APIs directly from your device — your keys are not sent to us.
  • Web app: your keys are stored in your browser’s local storage on your device. Because browsers block direct calls to these analytics APIs, requests are relayed through our server, which forwards your request to PostHog/Amplitude and returns the result. We do not store your keys or your analytics data on our servers, and we do not intentionally log them — they are used only to carry out the request you initiated.
  • You can remove stored keys at any time by disconnecting a source in the app (or by clearing the app’s data / your browser storage).

3. Your analytics data

The metrics and charts you see (active users, event counts, trends, and similar) are fetched on demand from your own PostHog or Amplitude account and displayed to you. We do not copy, retain, sell, or share this data. When you close the app or refresh, the data is re-fetched from your provider rather than stored by us.

4. No tracking or advertising

Vantage does not use advertising SDKs, third-party trackers, or tracking cookies, and we do not build a profile of you. The web app uses local storage only to remember your connected sources and your light/dark theme preference on your own device.

5. Third-party services

  • PostHog & Amplitude: these are your own analytics providers. Vantage sends requests to their APIs on your behalf using the credentials you provide. Their handling of your data is governed by your agreements with them and their respective privacy policies.
  • Hosting (Railway): the Vantage web app and its request relay are hosted on Railway. Network requests necessarily transit Railway’s infrastructure in transit; we do not configure Railway to persist your keys or analytics data.

6. Data retention

Because we do not maintain accounts or a user database, there is no personal data for us to retain or delete on your behalf. Credentials and preferences live locally on your device or browser and are under your control.

7. Security

All network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. On iOS, credentials are stored in the system Keychain. On the web, credentials are stored in your browser’s local storage; while convenient, browser local storage is less isolated than the iOS Keychain, so we recommend using Vantage on devices you trust and disconnecting sources you no longer use. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Vantage is a tool for product and business analytics and is not directed to children. It is not intended for use by anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at this URL. Material changes will be reflected here; please review this page periodically.
